For Children

If you are looking for a family-friendly day out, look no further.  Levens Hall is a fantastic place for children to explore and has enough activities to satisfy even the most energetic youngsters. With acres of gardens and parkland to run around in, not to mention the many activities that can be found in the House, there is plenty to keep them entertained.

Children's tickets, for youngsters between the ages of 5 and 16, are available to buy online or at the entrance kiosk on arrival.

Playground

With challenging climbing and slides for children under 12 years of age, the playground is an exciting place to have some fun. Children must be carefully supervised at all times whilst playing in the area, and there are conveniently located picnic benches for parents/guardians to oversee playtime.

 Activities

Quiz

Follow the clues in each of the rooms in the House to find out how it has changed and developed into what you see today. Who made the beautiful plaster ceilings? How did a card game determine the ownership of the House? Where did the servants live and what kind of jobs did they do?

How good are your observation skills?  Can you find all of the items on the Garden Quiz?

Mouse and Bird Hunt

Can you find all of the mice and birds hidden in the House? Whilst the House is closed they mysteriously move about.

Costumes

Dress up in Elizabethan costume to walk around the House. Whether you would like to experience life as a maid or as lady of the house, there’s a great selection to choose from.

Access with buggies and prams

The Gardens are fully accessible to smaller visitors who are in buggies and prams, with gravel and grass paths throughout. However, the House has many narrow door openings and steps making it inaccessible.

Eat

Children are well catered for in Levens Kitchen with healthy half portions from the menu, high chairs, cutlery for small hands and books. There are also picnic benches throughout the grounds should you choose to bring your own food.

Walk on the wild side

If your children are still needing to let off steam after their visit to the House and Gardens, why not cross the road for a walk in Levens Deer Park? A huge amount of wildlife can be seen and there are several miles of marked paths to run along before it’s time to go home.
