This year we will celebrating Christmas at Levens Hall by opening the House and the Topiary Garden during December in the lead up to Christmas.

The House will be beautifully decorated for Christmas and fires will be lit.  Choirs and musicians from the local area will be performing carols and traditional Christmas music at specified times in the Great Hall. Please see below for timetable.

Take a leisurely walk around the Topiary Garden and see the topiary at its winter best, with crisp lines and stunning shapes.

Having visited the House and Topiary Garden you can stroll into Levens Kitchen where there will be a delicious festive menu on offer. You can also visit the new Levens Bakery which will be bursting with treats for you to enjoy during your visit or to take home for later.

And don't forget the Potting Shed Gift Shop with great ideas for Christmas gifts for all your family and friends.

SATURDAY 2 DECEMBER

1.30 pm – 3.30 pm       OttoVoce

An award-winning small ladies ensemble based in Milnthorpe formed by Musical Director Tracie Penwarden in 2007. Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds for various charities & alongside this they enjoy performing & competing in many venues around Cumbria. Expect lots of Christmas music to get you in the mood!

 

SUNDAY 3 DECEMBER

11 am – 1.30 pm South Lakes Acapella

A non audition Acappella choir.  They sing a wide variety of jazz, pop, classical and contemporary music all in the Acapella style.  They are a Winner of the Mary Wakefield Westmorland Festival Choirs award 2023.

2 pm - 4 pm Kendal Concert Band

A small ensemble from Kendal Concert Band (symphonic wind band) will be performing a selection of traditional Christmas carols. Featuring flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, french horn, bassoon, trombone, trumpet, saxophone and euphonium.

 

SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER

11 am – 12.30 pm South Lakes Acapella

A non audition Acappella choir.  They sing a wide variety of jazz, pop, classical and contemporary music all in the Acapella style.  They are a Winner of the Mary Wakefield Westmorland Festival Choirs award 2023.

1 pm - 3 pm The Salvation Army Band (Kendal)

A wonderful mix of well-known Christmas classics performed by a traditional brass band.

 

SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER

11 am – 1 pm South Lakes Acapella

SATURDAY 16 DECEMBER

11 am – 1 pm   Parcapella

An a cappella quartet, who started out meeting in the park, during the times of social distancing.  They sing an eclectic mix of songs, old and new.  At Levens Hall they will be singing mostly seasonal music (some traditional arrangements, some a little different) but also some non-seasonal songs.

                       

1.30 pm – 3.30 pm  The Sands Band

A local band based in Grange over Sands who have been playing together since 2016. They will be playing a selection of Christmas carols and songs in a folk style. They will be bringing some words in case anyone feels like singing along to some of the carols!

 

SUNDAY 17 DECEMBER

11 am- 1 pm Kendal Concert Band

2 pm - 4 pm       Levens Choir

Levens Choir is based in South Cumbria, and has become known for high performance standards and an innovative, wide-ranging repertoire.They will be singing some of the usual traditional carols and some more unusual ones from European Christmas music, including pieces from Sweden, Russia, Italy and France.
