HAL BAGOT

COUNTESS OF SUFFOLK AND BERKSHIRE (1694 - 1762)

Colonel Grahme’s three sons pre-deceased him, and he left Levens Hall to his daughter Catherine, who had made an advantageous marriage into the Howard family and was the  Countess of Suffolk and Berkshire.  Catherine knew Beaumont well and insisted that no changes were to be made to the garden, thus preserving the formal style during a period of great change in garden design.

When she died, Levens Hall was inherited by her grandson Henry Howard.
