The Bellingham Buttery, staffed by our friendly catering team, is open from 10 am until 5 pm, Sundays to Fridays.  A self-service system operates throughout this time and a wide range of delicious home-cooked food is available.  The home-baking is of the highest standard and there is a wide choice of hot and cold dishes, sandwiches and snacks on offer every day.

Produce from Levens Estate - including venison and pheasant - is often served, and wherever  possible we source other ingredients from local suppliers as it is our aim to support Cumbrian businesses and to use local products.

Beverages include freshly ground coffee, a choice of teas, soft drinks including locally produced apple juice, wine and the renowned Levens beer, called Morocco Ale, brewed to secret recipe.

On fine days visitors can enjoy their refreshments on the attractive terrace outside the Bellingham Buttery, with its fine views over a formal garden, and Whitbarrow Scar in the far distance. On cold days a fire burns in the panelled flagged tearoom, and every day a video of the tour of the House plays on a continual loop in the old kitchen tearoom for the benefit of visitors unable to acess the House.

There are two high chairs for the use of our visitors, and special easy-to-hold cutlery is available on request.
